details

Two large spaces lead the way. One with 1716square feet and round-table seating for 84.The other at 2,336 square feet with round-tables eating for 125. In addition, the building offers multiple “break-out” rooms and a popular sky-lit atrium, ideal for less formal meetings or “home-base” refreshment space. Named “IDEA”, this 50’ soaring space bathed in natural light from skylights high above fuels creativity. Food and beverage selections are served effortlessly via the hotel’s nationally recognized restaurant and the building’s robust catering kitchen.

Design wise, the building unites historic architecture with acclaimed furniture design, marketing-leading wireless speed and refined Italian lighting. It occupies a beautiful 100-year old structure, once the city’s most prominent music store. And yet, historic architecture belies the leading technology of today: 100 mbps wireless speeds and an array of contemporaryA|V equipment readily available for any high-tech need. All lighting is controlled by dimmers.

Likewise, a modern ensemble of furniture and furnishings is set to the soulful, interior canvas of masonry walls and structural wood columns.Warm white walls. Large windows. Versatile lighting. Custom carpet. An impressive array of local art. A trio of Catellani & Smith’s Fil de Fer’s award-winning wire chandeliers are internally lit with a constellation of elegant white lightsand glow within 10’ second story windows. The lobby is graced by a 10’ x 10’ original painting by local artist David Harouni. Floors are carpeted in a “divine feminine” carpet, made exclusively for International House. Vecta’s award-winning “Ballet” tables and Steelcase’s rolling “Sweeper” chairs present stylish form as well as function.

Meetings

Inspired meetings spaces at International House live on the hotel’s second floor, the intersection of Architecture, Art andTechnology. Built in 1887, the classical architecture features a monumental statue of Omphale, her epic narrative forever linked to Hercules. Her allegorical female figure reigns atop the building, holding Hercules’ club and wearing his lion skin.Building on the theme, a curated pre-function space is home to the hotel’s internationally recognized Magdalena Gallery. It contains a growing collection of original art which explores the life and legacy of Mary Magdalene and celebrates the divine feminine and power of women generally. Finally, 100 mb wifi, modern A|V technology, handsome furniture by Herman Miller and custom furnishings by designer Lisa Marie Pagano create an uncommonly beautiful, highly functional meeting space designed to stoke creativity.

• Teutonia-Cosmopolitan is named for the company that built the building. The space comprises a flexible 1000 sf, which can be sub-divided with the soundproof air wall.

• The Boardroom sits eight and features not only a rosewood table, handmade by a local craftsman, but an impressive array of timelessly beautiful black and white photographs by the unequalled Herman Leonard. He was the most gifted jazz photographer this nation has ever know, made New Orleans his adopted home and always drank a classic margarita at our bar.As we like to say, “Herman’s photography graces the walls of the White House, the Smithsonian and our House.”

Conference Center

Across the street, the Conference Center at Entrepreneurs’ Row® occupies a beautiful 100-year-old building, once New Orleans’ most prominent music store.

Showcasing one of only three remaining cast iron façades in the city, it is a compelling mix of old and new. The historic architecture belies leading-edge technology, handsomely designed furnishings and refined finishes. The first in the city to offer 100 MEG internet speeds, the building is a joyful celebration of creativity, with expansive spaces, warm whitewalls, large windows, rich lighting, custom carpet and an impressive array of local art set to a canvas of historic masonry and exposed wooden beams. Contemporary A|V equipment is readily available for any high-tech need.
